Get To Know One Of Us
Introducing one of us: Jesslyn Adams
Here at NBS2GO we are thrilled to have new staff join our team. Jesslyn Adams, a young mom of two boys and wife to Matt, joined us in January. Look and see what she has been doing in her neighborhood.
I have always been excited to connect with those around me! I believe God has placed specific people around us in every stage of life for a distinct purpose. It is my hope and desire that my family is a picture of the love of Jesus. I also hope and pray that I can help share the importance of spending time with Jesus by reading the Bible.
Just recently we held a neighborhood BBQ in our front yard. It was a step of faith to knock on doors and invite people. I was pleasantly surprised how many people were excited about the opportunity to connect with others! People are desiring community now more than ever after the past couple of years and I believe God is awakening hearts who are desperate for the peace and hope Jesus can bring in a broken world of pain and suffering! It was fun to see my neighbors engage with one another and laugh. I think we all needed this time to connect and several already started planning the next block party.
Another step of faith I took was launching a 5-week women's Neighbor Bible study. I invited friends from our BBQ as well as friends from the local elementary school my children attend. I have had several good conversations with others and one in particular is Tomoko. She practices Buddhism. By God's grace, she seeks a friendship with me. She said, "You always make me feel so welcome because you are warm and make others feel comfortable. I always have fun with you." Well, the feeling is mutual, and I am thankful God brought Tomoko in my life for the past 2 years and I am excited about the conversations we are having.
Isn’t it amazing what God wants to do in and through us? I simply yield to His leading and watch Him work. That is what NBS2GO is all about.
