Right on Time: A 10:02 Answer to Prayer

Right on Time: A 10:02 Answer to Prayer

For the past year and a half, my phone alarm goes off daily at 10:02 a.m. It’s my reminder to “pray to the Lord of the Harvest to send forth workers into the fields,” according to Luke 10:2.

Reflect back with me to the morning of May 5, 2010, when God gave me a vision saying, “I am awakening an unprecedented number of hearts in neighborhoods…I’ve given you the passion and decades of experience, simple tips and tools to encourage and equip all women, everywhere, to begin Neighborhood Bible Studies.”

Out of this, God birthed NBS2GO which stands for Neighborhood Bible Study 2 GO. The website nbs2go.com offers free, easy-to-use tools to encourage and equip believers to begin their own Neighborhood Bible Studies.

My big question was how to connect the hearts God was awakening with the resources of nbs2go.com? Our team of eight volunteers – all ordinary women leading their own NBS groups, with limited extra time, money or experience – couldn’t possibly pull off an NBS2GO marketing campaign, could they?

In January of 2014, God whispered, “Why don’t you use the strategy I gave my disciples?”  I immediately felt impressed to turn to Luke 10:1-2. This scripture verse describes the Lord choosing 72 disciples and sending them ahead in pairs to all the towns and villages He planned to visit with these instructions:  “The harvest is so great, but the workers are so few. PRAY to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest and ask Him to send out more workers for His fields.”  What emerged that morning was God’s simple NBS2GO marketing strategy – PRAY Luke 10:2 every day at 10:02 a.m.

Six weeks into my daily 10:02 prayers, God initiated a connection with Susan, the women’s ministry director at Calvary Church in Grand Rapids, Mich. Their church is taking a giant, bold step of repositioning its women’s ministry to multiply outside the church walls, beginning June 2015. It’s radical! It’s gutsy! It’s going to be exciting and breathtaking to watch God’s plan continue to unfold.

Susan says she is following God’s lead to thrust the women out as “workers” into their local “harvest fields” instead of moving women’s ministry to a rented facility during the church’s 12- to 18-month renovation. Susan invited NBS2GO to cast a vision, encourage and equip these women to begin Neighborhood Bible Studies with their neighbors, co-workers, and friend-groups.

Pic Blessed to be a BlessingB2B, Blessed To Be A Blessing, a week of gatherings at Calvary Church in March, can only be explained as an answer to the 10:02 prayer! Hundreds of women were inspired and embraced the three simple steps of Prayer, Care, Share, which will ultimately result in hundreds of outreach Bible Studies. It was exciting to see them experience the simplicity of working and facilitating an Acrostic Bible Study at each workshop session. You can access these studies for free on our website and see for yourself how easy they are to lead!

Would you join me in PRAYING Luke 10:2 every day at 10:02 a.m.?

Pray for the hearts God has awakened to begin an NBS in the surrounding community. Pray for hundreds of thousands nationwide to be led to www.nbs2go.com. Pray they take steps of faith to engage friends, neighbors and co-workers in a Neighborhood Bible Study in their area.

The harvest is great, but the workers are few. Let’s pray for more workers and an ever more abundant harvest!
