Top 10 Reasons NBS Leaders are Thankful

Top 10 Reasons NBS Leaders are Thankful

We asked several people who lead neighborhood Bible studies the following question: “When you think about your NBS, what are you most thankful for?” Read and enjoy these responses.

  1. I am very, very thankful that the neighborhood Bible study impacts the families of the women. We have seen entire families become Christians.
  2. I led a mother-daughter Neighborhood Bible Study when my daughter was in 5th grade. There were so many benefits to it – getting to know her friends’ mothers better and learning from their walks of faith with their kids was huge. But the thing I was most thankful for was hearing my daughter’s thoughts and feelings about God and her very real experiences at school, which she wouldn’t normally share with me.
  3. God’s Word is powerful. As we gather to read and learn from His Word our lives are changed. Can’t think of anything more wonderful than to be a part of this process!
  4. We have grown closer together as women as we grow in our relationships with the Lord. We are here for one another through good times and hard times.
  5. We had a Hindu woman join us, a Jewish woman and a Christian scientist and lots of Catholics. I love all the backgrounds from each of the ladies. I look forward to every Tuesday morning in seeing what God is going to do that day.
  6. I am most thankful that He has allowed me to step out in faith on this journey and be a part of His plan.
  7. I’m thankful that it keeps me daily in the word of God, not just skimming the surface, but looking deep for insights and understanding.
  8. Different ages, different stages, different races, different experiences, different political parties (imagine that!) all coming together with the focus of learning about Jesus.
  9. I am thankful to be a part of a caring community of neighbors committed to loving, praying for and meeting the needs of our NBS – touching the lives of our entire neighborhood with the love of Jesus.
  10. I am so thankful to see life transformation as a result of studying and applying God’s Word.

How about you? Wouldn’t you like to be a part of your neighborhood being impacted for Christ?

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. Colossians 2: 6-7
